Welcome to day three of the Out of the Dark Blog Hop! Hosted by Joan of Moose Stash Quilting. I am so glad Joan is hosting this hop again this year. It has been one of my favorite hops over the years!
I love playing with Halloween fabrics and colors!
This year I decided to play around with just the colors and made festive table runner.
I started out by picking out some spooky colors and made some traditional quilt blocks.
These are Island Batik fabrics and all but the black came from stash builder sets that were sent to me as part of the Island Batik Ambassador program.
Each stash builder set has five rolls of four strips each. The strips are five inch by the width of the fabric and you can make quite a bit from them. I made all the blocks with them and still had some leftovers. The black is another Island Batik print I had in my personal stash.

I even cut the fabrics too small for my first sawtooth star block and still had enough fabric for all my blocks and then some. I redid the Sawtooth block the right size and will find something to do with that smaller block later on.
I wanted to stich in the ditch for the quilting and since this was a small project I decided to use my regular machine. I am still better at ditch quilting on my regular machine compared to my long arm. I have to use the rulers to keep it straight on the long arm, but I don't have to on the regular machine and it's actually faster for me.
I had perfect size scrap of Hobbs Fusible batting so I didn't have to pin baste anything.
As usual, Boonky was on duty for quality control.
I put it on the table with my newest Halloween decoration, but I felt it was missing something...
That's better.
Caldrons over flowing with candy! The perfect Halloween table decoration!
It's been a fun hop so far! Be sure to check out any that you may have missed Monday or Tuesday, and check out the other blogs today to see their spooky creations.

Beautiful runner and I love how you are using it on the table with the cauldrons and candy!
ReplyDeleteThose hanging cauldrons are the perfect on your beautiful runner. Where did you find them? You nailed the design with those gorgeous fabrics!
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how Halloween decorations can be so color driven. Your table runner proves that point beautifully. I also love your latest table toppers topper. It's is great and the addition of the candy is like icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteBoonky looks quite comfy on your runner. He knows it’s creepy cool like I do. The cauldrons are a perfect deco for Halloween, especially how you added the candy. Love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table runner for Halloween!
ReplyDeleteThat runner is so cute and perfect under the little caldrons.
ReplyDeleteVery cool table runner! I love the colors and your arrangement with the cauldrons is a great way to display it!
