Pets On Quilts - 2011

SewCalGal is holding a virtual "Pets on Quilts" Show for 2011.  Anyone can enter photos for the show. To enter a photo and see the rules click here.

Now on to my entry...

This is my lovely cat Sheen..At first glance he appears quite content watching me quilt but then...

He gets distracted by the shinny pins and tries to eat them....

In his effort to get at the safety pins, he becomes an extreme sewing obstacle.

After giving up on trying to get the pins I thought he would get up and go about his business.

But his business appears to be getting comfortable on my quilt and sewing machine...

and taking a nap.  Needless to say, I was done quilting for the rest of the afternoon.

Just so cute - mine only touches the pins when they are in to baste and quilt. AND falls asleep around the machine too which ends the day. Sheen reminds me of the gray we had when my kids were little.

Oh that's funny. What a character.

Sheen is very good looking and your quilt is beautiful. But wow, Sheen definitely does get in the way. Maybe he needs to see the photos of the other cats on quilts that are helping. Too funny, but I suspect he could really slow you down. Maybe we need a quilt retreat for cats?

Do let Sheen know pins can be very dangerous and he should stick to his cat toys.

Thanks for sharing. Quite fun to see the antics that Sheen is up to.

Your post was so cute.. Looks like we all know now who is the sewing room boss...

I think Sheen is trying to tell you something...I think it's time to get her a sewing machine of her own...and a little quilting time of her own!
Take care!

How beautiful! I think I looked a little like sheen in that pic with his arms all over the place when I was trying to quilt on the weekend.
He is a handsome boy.

What a wonderful post. I'm still laughing. I don't know how many times I've walked away from something so I don't disturb a sleeping animal. I guess we know who rules. Thanks.

Sheen is a beautiful cat! How funny that he tries to steal the pins. He must make your sewing time quite complicated at times. Thanks for sharing those great photos :)

I don't think he wanted the pins at all, it was just his way of getting you to leave the quilt for him to snooze on.

Sheen is such a cutie and wow, what a helper! My cats love to get right in the way too!

LOL!! How funny. :) Sheen knows a good napping place when he finds it - a comfy quilt to lay on and a nice warm machine to lean against. 1

Oh how adorable...not productive...but adorable!

He's obliviously been paying attention to you and your quilting and is trying to mimic your behaviour and has discovered the delight of a newly quilted quilt. :o)

Oh my! I have trouble like that here too. Especially when I want to sew but don't want to disturb them!

Oh, he's cute! You can tell who is the boss in your sewing room!

We can certainly tell who rules the roost around there! Beautiful cat.

I love his gray color! How do all of these cats keep their feet out from under the sewing needle? ;) Seems they all like to help out. :)

LOL, poor baby had to work so hard no wonder he fell asleep.

Sheen is so lovely :) I think it's so funny that we're willing to stop working rather than disturb the critter who's resting on our WIP! Thanks so much for sharing your photos :)

HA, that is so funny, I cannot believe Sheen just fell asleep on your machine! He must love the heat from the light? Great entry, I laughed right out loud.
hugs,
Carolyn

That's hilarious! So far my kitty only sleeps on the fabric, not the machine.

So funny! Sheen is just pooped from dealing with all those pins!
Very pretty kitty!

Thank you for sharing your lovely kitty with me. My dogs will not allow me to have a kitty, so I do enjoy looking at photos of other folks kitty companions.

You are lucky to have such a helper. Love all your pics.

He is too funny snuggled right up with your machine. I think he thinks since you love it so much that he needs to love it too.

Sheen just loves to help, he is just so beautiful, must be wonderful company when he is not assisting so much.

Sheen knows when it's time for a nap - and yes, that means you, too! Smart cat (and gorgeous). Love the quilt in process ...
