Mon Ami Bound and Finished

I finished the rest of the quilting and the binding for my Mon Ami quilt on Wednesday night, but it has been raining for 3 days straight so I wasn't able to go outside to take a photo of it till this afternoon.

I added a light blue fabric as the binding to help frame out the yellow border.

  6. Hey Mary Jo, I was going to respond to your question through email, but your comment came as "no-reply blogger" which means I can't respond via email. So I will post the answer here hoping you will see it.

The pattern comes from a Schnibbles pattern by the same name. I didn't buy the pattern though. It is really just a variation of some Friendship Star blocks put together with some half square triangles for an inside border. Some patterns that use traditional blocks I can figure out for myself on how to put them together without having to buy the pattern and this pattern was one of those. Plus the pattern called for a more scrappy charm pack, but I don't have any of those and since I am on a fabric diet, I used what I already had on hand and went for a more controlled scrappy color scheme. My exact measurements of the finished quilt may be off from the pattern since I made my blocks slightly bigger, so I suggest if you want to make it the exact same size and color as the pattern, then go ahead and purchase the pattern.

I really love this quilt, it is one of my favorite quilts right now.
